| Hey there everyone. To start off this announcement, I'd like everyone to congratulate Sonata, for he is going to be the new Global Moderator. In addition, you'll notice some graphical updates coming on the forum. If your forum starts looking a bit wacky or if you get a php error, know that it's just me messing around under the hood and it should be back to normal within 5 minutes. Finally, keep your eye out because when July is coming, so will a contest with a cash prize! I'll bet everyone can't wait! ![]() 12 comments | 12 |

Increasing Activity!
May 02, 2008, 01:28:07 AM by Sonata
![]() | As many of you have probably noticed this place is quieter than a ghost town. We currently have 28 members, and about 5 who are active. There are about 2 posts a week and less than 10% of all these posts are actually productive. So what do we do about it? #1-Advertising This is big. How are potential members supposed to register if they never come across the site? Members, if you think this is an all around solid site and you happen to be registered at another game development site or two, go ahead and drop a link to this site in your signature. It will hopefully increase traffic, which equals more members and in turn, a better community. I would also like to encourage our admin to put some thought into other ways of advertising. #2-Games to Play This is primarily a game development site, so it would make sense that we would have a few games for visitors to the site to try out. However i do understand that this is time conditional. Most members are currently working on a game of their own, and it does take time. My point though, is that having a "featured game" would be a large draw to the site. #3-Better Looking Forum This has already been touched on, but there are still a few kinks that could be ironed out, for example the base of the menu-bar extending past the rest of the page. There are also more that I will go into detail about on request. So anyways I want to hear some of your ideas for increasing activity. Hopefully we can take these ideas and apply them in order to build a better community! (Yes this has already been addressed in at least one topic before, but they are pretty much dead, so I said "fuck it" and started this) 37 comments | 37 |
Regarding Name Changes
April 26, 2008, 05:53:07 AM by djzalzer

| If you want your name changed, just PM me and I will do it for you. There are two types of name changes. Type 1 Changes your display name. You still login with the same name and password, only what others see are different. Recommended. Type 2 Changes your display and login name. Your password will be reset and emailed to you. If you used a bogus email on signup, use option one or change your email address first! 3 comments | 3 |

Upload Center
March 03, 2008, 02:18:58 AM by djzalzer
|
| Members who have 75 posts or more on the forums should notice something new: the Cereus Games Upload Center. Simply click on the link near the bottom of the forum and upload any file up to 10 MB. Please note that the Upload Center is only for project files. You can upload as many files as you would like, as long as your post count is above 75 as I said earlier. To all those members whose post counts are higher than 75, please do not compromise the URL of the uploader to anyone; if it has public access most certainly my host will drop me and then there will be no more Cereus Games. So yeah, don't do that. Happy uploading. 0 comments | 0 |
